The Crabby Shack - The Profit Update

This week on The Profit, Marcus Lemonis is in Brooklyn, New York to make a deal with The Crabby Shack. The Crabby Shack is a seafood restaurant opened by Fifi Bell-Clanton and Gwen Woods in 2014.  Their business has grown even during the pandemic and Marcus would like to help them become a successful chain restaurant that could reach more people. 

Let's take a look at some information related to The Crabby Shack as well as what kind of deal was made on the show.

    • Their website has a popup that says featured on CNBC's The Profit and advertises their upcoming episode.
    • They list all the press they have received on their website and appearances include The Wendy Williams Show, Netflix documentary She Did That, Tamron Hall, and CNBC. (Link)
  • Crabby Shack sells their seafood on Goldbelly and their foods include lobster rolls, crab mac & cheese, dinner kits, soups, crab legs and shrimp.  That link will give you a $25 promo code for an order and you can search for The Crabby Shack.
    • The Goldbelly description of the restaurant states, "Growing up in Philadelphia, celebrity stylist Fifi Bell-Clanton had no shortage of options when it came to getting her crab fix. But after moving to Brooklyn, she was dismayed to discover that if she wanted freshly steamed Blue crab, Dungeness crab, or Alaskan Snow crab she had to go to a fish market and cook it herself.     • Most of the reviews are positive and all sites have a rating of over 4 stars out of 5.
  • A July 2021 article said The Crabby Shack had a failed second location, but they are launching a location inside the Barlay's Center and hope to have one at Citi Field. (Link)

The Deal From The Episode Plus Post-Show Updates (this will be updated continually):
  • The Deal - $100,000 for 10% of the business.  The money would be used to renovate the restaurant space, do menu updates, develop new products, and improve the website.
  • The renovations done at The Crabby Shack were finished in late August 2021. (Link)
  • In early September 2021, The Crabby Shack started selling frozen "Crabioli," Shrimp Ravioli, and Lobster Tortellini at their Brooklyn location. (Link)
  • As stated above, Crabby Shack sells their seafood nationwide on Goldbelly and their foods include lobster rolls, crab mac & cheese, dinner kits, soups, crab legs and shrimp.
  • As of the episode airing, the sauces are not available for purchase online.
