The Profit - Snowdays Yetitracks & Snacks Update

Tonight on The Profit, Marcus Lemonis is in New York, New York hoping to make a deal with Snowdays.  Snowdays is a specialty ice cream shop that has shaved ice cream with Asian-inspired flavors.  The owner tried to expand the business before perfecting his concept and now is on the verge of bankruptcy.  Marcus will try to get the owner to change his concept and let go of the manufacturing process to help improve the business.

News and Links Related To The Company:
  • Here is the Snowdays website and Facebook page.  Their Instagram page has over 35k followers.
  • There has been a lot of press for Snowdays unique desserts, which they have a link to on their website.
  • In May 2018, Snowdays announced plans to franchise.  At the time of this press release Snowdays had 4 locations.  They wanted to franchise 8 locations in a year and hoped to achieve 25-30 franchised locations within three years. (Link)
  • In early February 2019, Marcus Lemonis did a Facebook Live video from the Snowdays store.  They sell Mr. Green Tea (season 1 of The Profit) ice cream and mochi and Marcus showed the shaved cream and build-your-own mochi. (Link)  
  • The grand re-opening of the Snowdays store happened on February 2nd, 2019, so not long before the episode airs. (Link)
    • During the grand re-opening, you will see the slight name change to Snowdays Yetitracks & Snacks.

The Deal From The Episode Plus Post-Show Updates (this will be updated continually):

  • The Deal - $300,000 for 50% of the business.  The money would be used remodel the East Village store, close the other stores, and create a concept that is profitable.
  • Yelp says the West Village location is supposed to reopen on March 10, 2019, so it appears that store will be the second to implement the new concept.
  • Precise Graphix from season 3 of The Profit did the Snowdays redesign. (Link)
